Mgr. Jan Kozák
Mgr. Jan Kozák offers psychological counselling and psychotherapy for adults who struggle with long‑term difficulties such as recurring conflicts and relationship breakdowns, feelings of emptiness, failure or loss of meaning, strong self‑criticism, anxiety, persistent dissatisfaction, addictive patterns, or inner tension that is hard to manage.
He grounds his therapeutic practice in comprehensive training in Jungian‑oriented analytical psychology within the Czech Society for Analytical Psychology, where he has been a member and trainee since 2016, and in intensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy training with British Isles DBT Training. Within the analytical framework, he works with clients on recurring patterns, “shadow” aspects, dreams, inner imagery, and the search for meaning and new possibilities of living. He uses DBT to develop concrete skills for emotion regulation, coping with crises, and managing demanding situations; mindfulness and meditation are incorporated both in his individual practice and in group courses in mindfulness and an introduction to DBT within the GRADIENT project at the National Institute of Mental Health.
He draws on experience from a day treatment program for personality disorders at Psychiatric Hospital Bohnice, where he led individual and group DBT therapy, and from addiction services at SANANIM, where he worked with people with problematic and addictive substance use, crisis intervention, and harm reduction. Within the Czech Addictological Institute, he contributed to the development of clinical practice guidelines in addictology and to research projects, which enables him to connect individual psychotherapy with current evidence in the fields of addiction, personality disorders, and dual disorders.
